I did a search but did not find any info on this. Any one here use a scupper cart to transport your SOT? Anyone experience any damage to the scupper hole area due to using a scupper cart?

I have the Hobie scupper wheels and they work just fine with no damage to the holes themselves on my Outback.

Like WARLOCK said above, the Hobie carts that fit in ALL MODELS of the Hobie kayaks are fine products....and there are three of them depending one wheel type and weight......the Wheeleze Soft Sand tires are really nice for beach launches...but the new Heavy Duty Carts have NON-pneumatic tires which are actually filled with foam, and they work better for crushed gravel and oyster shells.....and they work "OK" on the sand too!!! Not at work, but pretty certain they are $150.

BTW....they are NOT MEANT FOR STORAGE on top of them...
They are NOT MEANT FOR STORAGE outside in the sun in 95* temps.....
They are only meant for transporting your Hobie from your vehicle to the water and back to your vehicle....
Then, store them in your garage or carport or shed.....and NOT on the carts!!!

BTW#2.......For non-Hobie kayaks and canoes of all sizes and shapes, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the C-Tug brand of carts!!!
They are 99.9% rust-free plastic....except for one stainless steel screw on the kickstand.
Made in New Zealand....5 yr warranty.....holds up to 300#......breaks down into 7 pieces with no tools for easy stowage in your yak....they are awesome carts!!!

There is the basics. I used metal then covered it with pvc. Not sure if pvs alone would hold my boat rigged out. If u want pics let me know. I used condut covered in pvc.

I use this style for my kayak and it works just fine. I actually have my kayak sitting on it in the garage at all times and haven't had any real issues.

Thanks for the replies guys. I've constructed a scupper cart from PVC pipe and it works very well. The problem of your laden kayak rolling when you lift the stern to insert the cart in the scuppers is easily remedied with a chunk of high density foam. Cut a 'V' in the foam block and place this block under the bow of the kayak before you attempt to lift the stern. Wish I could take credit for the idea but I actually saw it on U-tube.
