With the hope of bringing more kayak anglers into the group, Mark Patterson, the force behind NCKFA statewide has helped to arrange a sharing of meetings between Hook, Line and Paddle and Great Outdoor Provisions Company. This will hopefully open us up to more kayak anglers, give us a greater pool of talent to draw speakers from, and allow us to become a more organized group. With that said meetings will alternate between the two stores for the rest of 2012 with May, July, Sept. and Nov. meetings being at Hook, Line and Paddle and April, June, Aug., Oct., and Dec. meetings being at Great Outdoor Provisions Company. The April meeting will begin at 6:30 and we can discuss future starting times at the meeting. Jerry Dilsaver will be the speaker for the April 3 meeting and the topic will be preparing for the spring king run. As you know, for several years the spring run of kings along the Oak Island beaches has begun in April and as warm as this year has been so far, that is a real good possibility for this year. For your information, Hook, line and Paddle is on Eastwood Road and Great Outdoor Provisions Company is on Oleander in the Hanover Shopping Center across from the Independence Mall. So put April 3 on your calendar now and lets have a great turnout for our new home.
