I just spent two and a half weeks in Montana guiding and going to master fly classes, and we fished almost every day. We caught a lot of fish all on big (size 6 down to 10) October caddis and some classic western terrestrial patterns, but nothing over 20 inches. We did land slams every day, West Slope Cutties, Browns, Rainbows, and Cut Bows. There were some Bull Trout landed on big streamers, ( don't tell.) I came home and had a guide trip with an older gentlemen for a half day before I came back here to Wilmington. While helping him work on his mending in a tricky hydro run the indicator fly went under and I came tight to the largest fish of the 2011 season!
We had a great day with a lot of wild natives landed and two rainbows over 20 inches. Greats day in a while.

Sweet fish Tyler, makes me wish I didn't have so much salt in my blood. Talking with you today makes me miss the hills alot. There is nothing better than the solitude found in those mountain streams, and I love fishing those tailrace fisheries and their tribs.
