The news of this development is certainly unfortunate and I know that time and resources on the part of Mark and the NCKFA board along with Bob and Joey of the Yak Fish series had to be devoted to research this and ultimately work out a remedy. Clearly the leadership of both organizations worked in cooperation and demonstrated the character that should give hope that future events will only be better and more successful. (they already are great) Out of crisis good can and will come!

That is a sad deal and my hat off to the NCKFA for the way it was handled. Remember that when we die we will not be taking any prizes with us only our name and honor. No prize is worth destroying that!

Thanks for making this right! It's sad that we will probably have to devote an extra $5/person towards some sort of polygraph test. That is taking money from the turtles and soldiers. :(

Hats off to nckfa and the way they handled this situation. It sad that someone had to cheat in such a great sport with so many great people, I think he is going to realize he has lost more than he could ever manage to win by cheating. Mark, keep up the great job!

Even sadder, is that if you look at his tournament record, you find that he did rather well in more than just those particular tournaments where cheating was uncovered. Although it can't be proven, In my opinion I would say it is highly likely that cheating was also involved in all the other events he participated in as well.

One thing than can help stop such nefarious conduct, is an understanding that anyone who cheats in such an event is subject to prosecution. This would require a civil action, but if enough tourney organizers were willing to pursue such prosecution, it would only take a couple such actions before most intelligent folks would realize that cheating isn't the worth the risk of being caught and prosecuted.

I'd have such a notice posted in the rules and follow through if it were to happen again.

You never hurt the resource when you return a fish to the water.

The fish you remove from the water today is one you can't catch again tomorrow.

Carry a camera - a photo of a fish lasts a lot longer than a fish does.
