Hey folks, just found out today that I'll be moving to the Winston-Salem area this summer. I'm an original creek rat from the S.C. coast that been living in D.C. for the past few years, chasing Potomac Smallies from the yak. I'm looking forward to getting back down south but am gonna miss this fishery. Just jumped on board here to start sucking your brains of as much NC bassin info as possible. Drop me a line if you're willing to help school me. Look forward to meeting some of you guys on the water. Cheers, J.Lee

You have a good smallmouth fishery 15 minutes from you in the Yadkin River. Only problem is that due to the amount of agriculture nearby, the river isn't stable - any rainstorms quickly turn it red and it takes a week or more to return to any decent clarity. But when it's good, it's great.

You never hurt the resource when you return a fish to the water.

The fish you remove from the water today is one you can't catch again tomorrow.

Carry a camera - a photo of a fish lasts a lot longer than a fish does.

Silverback & Tom, I'll definitely be in touch. Nothing like having a local to show me the ropes. Just arrived in town today to scout realestate and stopped by the old 421 put in. Found the Yadkin looking like choc milk. Looks like I'll be commuting to fish. I'm self employed so will have some availability during the week late summer. Be looking for me. Cheers, J.Lee
