over some time now many people have asked me about the white bass run and i have thought it to be a real good time to show everyone .....

save the date April 7th

this year i would like to set up a meet and greet on the eno river the breif float plan is

launch at penny's bend and float to red mill rd boat ramp it is a 4.7 mile float down the river and i have arranged to have a shuttle service to get cars to the take out before the float ...... this is done so you can fish at your own speed with out holding up a group i will have hot dogs at the take out for a time of fellowship between angler's i also am opening up a big fish pot to the largest fish if you want to participate you can either throw $5 in the pot or a new unopened fishing lure closer to the event i will post a schedule with landmarks to tell you where you are along the voyage for those who might fish a little more intenselly than others in all the records i have keep i have found that with this winters weather current water levels and rainfall we should expect the end of march first of april to be the peak of the white bass run this could possibly be the most productive meet and greet to date. with 15 fish an hour average very common and if you have ever caught a nice white they are fighters . they are also good table fare i promote cpr (catch photo release ) but they are good to eat just be responsible stewards and help preserve our fisheries please. i will keep a running count on anyone who would like to participate here on this site.i already have 25 signed up on the ncangler forum please call or text wiht any questions to 919 201 7882 that is my cell and my name is Gary

I'll do my best to attend. Thanks for setting this up, Gary!

Thank you for recommending Catch-Photo-Release. The future of our sport depends on it now like never before.

You never hurt the resource when you return a fish to the water.

The fish you remove from the water today is one you can't catch again tomorrow.

Carry a camera - a photo of a fish lasts a lot longer than a fish does.

Sounds like a really great adventure and thanks for letting everyone know about it. If people want to keep the fish what are the limits/regs? I am all for the catch/photo/release but I just don't want anyone with a ticket.

I checked the regs..North Carolina has no size limit on white bass ( they should) but they have a 25 per day limit if you watn to keep any they are good table fare just keep your share.... it is hard to judge what the average and what the large ones are for your first time out but rule of thumb i tend to catch alotttttt over 12" so if it's less i prob would throw them back just offering my $.02

Please add my name - have only been on the Eno twice and caught a few fish but I have never caught any white bass before. Would love to participate and meet folks who live close by.
