Hello, my name is Ray I am a kayak fisherman from GA who normally does more fishing than catching in Florida. I am coming up to Camp Lejeune for almost all of september. I was wondering what type of fishing is around these parts and what are good places to put in around there, if any. I just don't think I could go 3 weeks with out hitting the water. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You are in luck since the base has the New River running almost through it. Also the base has its own beach (Onslow Beach) and the intercoastal waterway runs through the base. If you cannot find a trout, drum or flounder then your bait is gone. Just ask anyone on base how to get to the beach and they should be able to direct you. It is off the main base highway 172.
