I am planning to be in Beaufort SC 9/8 for a week of kayak fishing and relaxing. Can anyone offer any suggestions or tips. I would like to fish for puppy drum using my 10 wt flyrod but have never tried it before, I am an old Hatteras red drum fisherman used to fishing with cut bait on a surf rod. By the way, if Tom Kirkman is reading this, are you the maker of TKR surf rods? If so, I have one of your rods you made for me 20 years ago.

Thanks a lot. I am actually staying on Fripp Island. I talked with local outfitters, but they were only interested in renting me a kayak. I will check out your leads.

MB....just thought of three guys who are very helpful and I have fished with them and they came down to our JaxKayakFishing Classic tourney several times:

YakontheFly.....I know him but do not know if he fly fishes...sure sounds like it!! I think he is just outside Beaufort too.

Check the websites for them and contact them....they may not know John Stewart, but they all know "JohnYaksJax"....LOL!!
